Today I finally completed Dragon Age: Inquisition for the first time! XD I'd been putting it off for so long because I didn't want it to end.

And now of course, I'm going to be starting it again, even though I still have two other playthroughs to finish. I just have to decide who to romance, this time!

I've already romanced Cullen (♥), and am currently romancing Iron Bull. I've watched someone romance Sera and Dorian. I want to romance Cassandra but I don't want to play as a man. I have no interest in romancing Solas. So... it's Josephine or Blackwall.

I like Josie better, but I feel like Blackwall might be more interesting to romance. I'm friends with Josie already and I feel like romancing her wouldn't be that much different, but I feel like romancing Blackwall might show me a different side to him.

Have you romanced either of them? Which romance would you say was more fun?

So I'm replaying DA2 at the moment and I've just completed the Legacy DLC. It has given me feelings and opinions.

The first time I played DAI I hadn't played Legacy so when I went into the Fade with Hawke and Stroud all I cared about was that the game wanted me to choose between Hawke and a dude I barely knew. It was no choice at all really.

But now I've played Legacy a couple of times I do wonder whether the game intends for you to leave Hawke in the fade. I notice you get the sad music when you talk to Varric after you get out of the Fade and it always struck me as odd if you leave Stroud behind given we've had no real emotional attachment to him and neither does Varric.

But when you play Legacy and understand that Corypheus is free because Hawke used his blood to release him (even if the intention was to kill him) then the line s/he says about Corypheus being his/her responsibility makes a lot more sense.

What do you guys think? I think I've only left Hawke in the fade once (and that was so I could save Alistair) but I'm wondering if doing so is actually the right thing to do.

And on a slight tangent I also feel that in DA2 the game intends for Hawke's sibling to die in the Deep Roads. Usually I let Carver die because I am a terrible person and don't like him. But Bethany is too precious so I generally make her into a Grey Warden.

Thoughts? Opinions? I just had a lot of feelings.

I recently started playing in a new D&D campaign with one of the guys from work and a few of his friends. She's a necromancer and of course my first thought was Dorian Pavus so I'm playing her as a female version of him.

Then I decided it would be fun to make her in DAI

She doesn't really look like him but I triedCollapse )

So, I'm curious about who you ship beyond playable character/love interest (if anyone).

I have become ridiculously invested in Dorian/Bull ever since I first found out they hook up in game if you don't romance either of them.

I am also rather partial to Fenris/Anders, Fenris/Hawke/Anders and Nathaniel/Velanna

How about you guys? And if you want to suggest any art/fic/whatever for your pairings of choice by all means share

Since today I'm wearing my Dorian t-shirt and Tevinter hoodie let's talk about merchandise!

What Dragon Age merchandise do you own (if any)? What do you wish was available that currently doesn't exist?

I've got all the novels (but so far I've only read the first three), the collected edition of all the comics, a Cullen shirt, a Dorian shirt and two Tevinter hoodies

And this shirt which is probably my fave :D

DA4
Let's talk about DA4 and what it might involve. This thread may end up containing spoilers for Trespasser in the comments so proceed at your own peril

What do you think DA4 is going to involve? More importantly what do you want it to involve? Any characters you want to see return? Any plot points you want to see continued?

Inspired by a post by one of the members over at our sister DW here's a chance to show off any fanworks you may have created. This can be fic, art, cosplay, vids, plushies, crochet, whatever.

And if you haven't created anything yourself feel free to rec some of the things you love

YAY \o/

I'll start the ball rolling with the only Dragon Age fic I have posted (so far)

Protecting and Proud by Hils
Cullen provides a small amount of comfort to Trevelyan and her party following the attack on Adamant Fortress.

What do you think of the DA voice actors? Have any of them inspired you to go and seek out other things they've done?

And, important question: who would voice your Warden if they remastered Origins and gave the playable character a voice?

Slightly controversial issue here - remember to be nice to each other when discussing.

What do you all think about mods? I've only ever played on PS3/PS4 so I've never used them personally but I've seen images/gifs on Tumblr and I know it's something a lot of people feel strongly about.

If you've used mods what sort of things do you change and why? If you've made a conscious choice not to use mods what was the reasoning.

I have to say from what I've seen I like superficial mods. Ones that let you change clothes or hair, stuff like that. But that being said I HATE HATE HATE the mod that removes Dorian's moustache. Just...why?

In terms of deeper changes. Ones that let you change the sexuality of the characters, skin tone etc I think it depends on use I guess. One person I know on Twitter explained it quite well. If a mod is used to add minority representation to a game then that's great, if it's used to remove it then that's bad.

I think that's pretty much where I stand on the issue. Making Cass or Cullen bi so they can have a same sex relationship is fine. Making Dorian bi so he can have a heterosexual relationship not so much (and that's ignoring the fact that making him straight kind of derails his whole personal story/quest)

Thoughts? Opinions?
